Nagpurian Food

Every place is having some specialty. It may be of food, dress or language.

Something special and different is always visible in every new place where I go.

Likewise, when I came Nagpur I found some dishes which taste good as compared to that same dish I ate in another place.

There are some names of dishes I like the most in Nagpur.

1. Samosa and Aloo Chat

There is a roadside shop near my office especially for samosa, Pani Puri, and aloo chat.

Always rush of people in that shop.

I daily pass from that shop and observe people there eating with interest.

One day I thought I should try. I go to that shop and ordered samosa and aloo chat. The samosa and aloo chat of that shop was very tasty.

Try these dishes near Nandanvan or Kharbi.

2. Santra barfi and Son papdi

These two sweets are found at every sweets shop in Nagpur.

Without these two sweets, Nagpur people didn’t celebrate their happiness.

You can get high quality of these two sweets at Haldiram Nagpur.

3. Tarri poha

Tarri poha is my favorite.

Whenever I eat tarri poha in my house I didn’t get that taste which I get in roadside thela of kasturchand park.

The poha with red tarri makes a delicious combination.

Just one plate poha fills my stomach and I feel satisfied that at less price I got the best dish.

Famous English dishes can’t give me that satisfaction that this dish gives me.

4. Saoji dishes

Nagpur is also well known for its saoji restaurants.

That red curry of mutton and chicken attracts anybody.

There are many saoji restaurants just visit once you will get the best food there.

5. Biryaani and kabab

The well-known place in Nagpur called mominpura is famous for Muslims style biryani and kabab. Nowhere else you get that taste and the good smell of biryani that attracts people towards it.

6. Patodi

Patodi is a Maharashtrian style food which is there in the menu of every marriage of Nagpur Maharashtrians.

7. Pudachi vadi

It is also called a different style of bhakarvadi.

It is famous in Nagpur, you can try it at haldiram Nagpur.

These are some dishes I mentioned, there are also many dishes which are special in Nagpur.
